Naturism in Sweden
Sweden has no specific criminal law prohibiting public nudity. The "Allemansrätten" (right to roam/freedom to roam) tradition historically protects naturism in natural settings. The Public Order Act ("Ordningslagen") Section 6 prohibits only "offensive behaviour," which requires deliberate intent to disturb public peace — prosecution is extremely rare.

Officially DesignatedBreviksbadet is Österåker municipality's largest sea bathing place. It is on the Trälhavet bay in Brevik, just outside Åkersberga in the Stockholm archipelago, and is a monitored EU bathing water. The main bathing area has generous lawns, rocks and a sandy beach, with a small café, a mini-golf course, a playground and an outdoor gym that opened in 2020. Österåker municipality's own listing states that a separate beach in the area is set aside for naturist bathing. The naturist beach shares the access, parking and toilets of the main bathing place. Two toilets are available, one of them accessible, and a handrail leads into the water at the main beach for visitors with limited mobility. We found no published description of the naturist beach's exact position, size or surface. Ask locally or look for signs on arrival.
Brygga Ribersborgsbadet Naturistbad
Officially DesignatedRibersborgsstranden is Malmö's city beach, a man-made strip of pale sand running south-west from the Ribersborgs Kallbadhus towards Limhamn, with a broad grassy park between the sand and the city. Sand was first brought in from the Öresund in the 1920s and topped up again in the 1990s. Numbered wooden jetties (bryggor) run out into the shallow sound, and the naturist area sits towards the far south-western end, around jetty 10. Malmö city's own heritage page for the beach notes that a naturist bath lies along this south-western part. Travel guides say the nude zone has been in use since the late 1990s and was moved further along the beach for more privacy. One listing says white-painted stones mark its edges and that the jetty gives straight access to deeper water, while the sand in front stays shallow for a long way. Expect a mix of locals from the city, from regulars sunbathing on the jetty to swimmers who come down after work. The open, unshaded setting faces west across the Öresund towards Copenhagen and the bridge, so evenings bring long sunsets but also wind.
Fjällnora Naturistbad
Officially DesignatedFjällnora is a municipal outdoor recreation area and nature reserve about 15 km east of Uppsala. Its old-growth forest lies between two rift-valley lakes, Trehörningen and Ramsen. The main family beach sits below the friluftsgård (lodge), which has a café and reception and is open all year. It has jetties, a diving tower, barbecue areas and a ramp with handrails into the water. The naturist bath is a separate, much smaller spot. Uppsala kommun's visitor leaflet places it on Ramsen, the quieter and less built-up of the two lakes. Naturkartan describes it as on a small point reached by following signs from the main beach. Expect a small grassy and sandy lakeshore rather than a beach, in a forest setting. The lake water is fresh and warms up in July. The area also has a dog beach, a camping site, canoe and rowing-boat hire, a high-ropes adventure course and marked walking trails, so the reserve is busy on summer weekends even though the naturist spot itself stays small.
Heden
Officially DesignatedHeden is Halmstad's designated nude bathing area, at the far southern end of Östra stranden, the six-kilometre sandy beach that runs south from the city along Laholm Bay. The nude section lies where the small river Fylleån reaches the sea, beside Hagön campsite and inside the Hagön nature reserve, roughly 6 km south of the town centre. The setting is open and low: a long, pale sand beach backed by dunes up to about 10 m high, with heathland and wet meadows behind that are kept open by grazing and heather burning; only a small pine and birch wood in the north of the reserve gives any shade. The water is very shallow for a long way out, which means it warms up faster than at Halmstad's deeper beaches and suits waders and children, though on windy days the bay can still produce currents. The tourist board notes that Heden has appeared several times on lists of Sweden's best naturist beaches. Paths through the reserve are informal trampled tracks rather than marked trails, and there are no services on the nude stretch itself; the campsite is the nearest place for supplies.
Hökafältet
Officially DesignatedHökafältet is the official nude beach at the northern end of Mellbystrand, the long sandy shore of Laholm Bay about 7 km west of Laholm. The beach is split: the main Mellbystrand stretch is for clothed bathers and the northern part, close to Mellbystrands Camping, is set aside for nude bathing. Behind it lies the Hökafältet nature reserve, 417 hectares of dunes and pine forest between Mellbystrand and the mouth of the river Lagan; the pines were planted in the 1800s to stop drifting sand and now cover much of the old open dunes. The beach is fine sand and the bay is shallow, which makes it well suited to children, but the county board warns that strong currents and sudden changes in the seabed can occur on windy days, and the soft sand at the shifting river mouth can behave like quicksand. There are bins and a toilet but no drinking water. The local club Naturistföreningen Gränsbygden uses the beach as a meeting point. The area has a history of complaints about public sex in the dunes, which led Laholm municipality to review the beach in 2015-16.
Knähaken Nude beach, Helsingborg
Officially DesignatedKnähakenbadet is Helsingborg's only naturist beach, run by the city as one of its public bathing sites. It sits a short way south of the city centre on the Öresund coast, in a bay below a fairly steep slope, and looks straight across the strait towards Denmark. The beach is about 200 metres of sand, running from the pier at Högastensgatan in the south to the stone pier of the small Knähaken fishing harbour in the north, with the grassy Råå vallar area beyond its southern end. The city provides a jetty, an accessible toilet, drinking water and a kiosk, and signs mark the naturist bathing area. The sea off the beach is part of the Knähaken marine nature reserve, Sweden's first municipal marine reserve (2001), known for its rich seabed life, so anchoring boats and collecting animals or plants are not allowed. It is one of the best-known nude beaches in Skåne and is used by local naturists as well as visitors; the rocks around the piers are popular for sunbathing and swimming straight into deeper water.

Saltsjöbadens friluftsbad
Private ResortSaltsjöbadens friluftsbad, known locally as Saltisbadet, is an open-air bathhouse built out over the sea in Saltsjöbaden, a seaside suburb in Nacka east of Stockholm. Designed by Torben Grut in the early 1900s, it looks like a wooden castle on the water, and it keeps the old spa tradition of separate women's and men's baths alongside a public beach. In the women's bath (Dambadet), bathing with or without a swimsuit is the bather's choice; it is open to women of all ages and boys up to seven. The men's bath (Herrbadet) is men-only and clothing-optional in the morning, from 08:30 to 11:00, and then opens to everyone with swimwear required. The beach section requires swimwear. Wooden decks and ladders lead straight into the brackish Baltic water. The bath opens only in summer.
Sandvikens Fribad & Camping
Private ResortSandvikens Fribad & Camping is a naturist campground in the forests of eastern Värmland, near Filipstad. It sits on the shore of lake Yngen. It has run since 1973 and bills itself as Sweden's warmest naturist campsite. It is linked to Värmlands Naturistförening, and the federation Sveriges Naturistförbund includes it on its map of naturist campsites. Shallow, gently shelving bathing areas run into clear lake water. The site has pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents, as well as rental cabins. Guests mention a shared kitchen, a barbecue area, a washing machine, clean toilets, Wi-Fi and an evening sauna. Hiking trails start nearby. The campground holds events through the summer, such as midsummer, a summer party and a crayfish party. Its website says it is closed for the 2026 season and will reopen on 14 May 2027, with reduced service until early July. Membership of the regional naturist club is optional and gives discounts.
Solhejdans Naturistcamping
Private ResortSolhejdan is the naturist campsite of Naturistföreningen Svanrevet, a members' association founded in 1957 that describes itself as made up mainly of families. It lies on Knösvägen at Skanör, on the Falsterbo peninsula at the south-western tip of Sweden, close to the sandy shore and lagoons north of the town, with the official nude beach at Svanrevet nearby. Shared nudity is the core of the club's activity. Guests can pitch a tent, caravan or motorhome, or rent one of two cabins: Storebo with four beds and Lillebo with two. Listings and guest reviews mention a heated outdoor pool, a sauna lit in the evenings, a shared kitchen, a large lounge, a children's playground and Wi-Fi, and the association also runs an indoor bath. Children and families are explicitly welcome. Outside the main summer season the reception is not always staffed and services can be limited. In winter the association organises nude swimming sessions at the public Burlövsbadet pool in Arlöv.
