About Storsand
Storsand is a nature reserve and one of the best-known sea beaches on the Höga Kusten (High Coast), at the tip of the Mjällom peninsula just north of the fishing village of Norrfällsviken in Kramfors municipality. The reserve is small, about 11 hectares, but the beach itself is a broad sweep of fine, soft sand with low dunes behind it and sparse pine forest on the dunes. The water is shallow for a long way out over a sandy bottom, which makes it one of the warmer and gentler swimming spots on this otherwise rocky, cold Bothnian coast. The nude section is the western half of the beach: the county administrative board designates that half as a naturist bath and asks visitors to respect the split, so textile visitors tend to stay on the eastern half. The Världsarvsleden (World Heritage Trail), about 100 km long, runs through the reserve, so walkers pass along the beach. Dogs are not allowed anywhere in the reserve, and camping, caravans and fires outside marked places are banned. The season is short; this far north the sea is only pleasant from late June to mid-August.
Getting there
Follow signs towards Norrfällsviken, then turn left before reaching the fishing village where it is signposted to Storsand and the golf course. There is a car park at the reserve; driving into the reserve itself is not allowed. A service building with toilets owned by Kramfors municipality stands just outside the reserve boundary. From the parking area walk onto the beach and head for its western half, which is the naturist section. A popular alternative is to walk the Världsarvsleden from Norrfällsviken harbour via Hamnslåtten and back through Storsand.

Legal context
The Länsstyrelsen Västernorrland reserve page (seen 2026) states that the western half of the beach is a naturist bath and asks visitors to keep this in mind. Sweden has no law against nude bathing; nudity only becomes an issue if it amounts to sexual harassment or disorderly conduct towards others. Reserve rules ban dogs, camping and motor vehicles.
Naturism at Storsand sits under Sweden's rules for officially designated nude beaches — explicit protection inside the marked area.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
