About Skanörs Nudist Beach
Skanör's nude beach is on Svanrevet, the sandy northern point of the Falsterbo peninsula at Sweden's far south-western tip, just north of the old town of Skanör. The Swedish naturist federation describes it as an official nudist beach belonging to Vellinge municipality. Once you are past the textile beach, about 5 km of fine white sand runs north along the shallow Öresund shore. The sea is shallow far out, which makes it good for children, and the federation's own description calls it very child-friendly. On a hot, sunny day the beach can draw around a thousand nude bathers, but it is long enough to find space. The landscape is low dunes and open shore with no trees, and the Skanör-Falsterbo area is known for birdlife. Members of NF Svanrevet use the beach a great deal; the club runs the Solhejdan naturist campsite nearby. Further south, Skanörs Havsbad on the west coast is the busy family beach with its rows of wooden bathing huts.
Getting there
Park at Rådhustorget or along Kyrkogatan in Skanör. At the end of Kyrkogatan, a path leads to Skanör's northern bathing beach. To reach Svanrevet you have to wade a short way through shallow water, then bear north. After roughly 100 m the nude stretch begins. Regional buses link Skanör with Malmö and Vellinge. There are bins on the beach. Toilets and drinking water are back at the square and by the harbour jetty in Skanör, not on the nude beach. The wade and the soft sand make the beach unsuitable for wheelchairs.
What visitors say
Guides and visitors describe a very long, high-quality white-sand beach with shallow water, popular with naturist families and with members of the nearby Solhejdan campsite. On hot days it gets busy but rarely feels cramped, thanks to its length. The short wade across the shallows is the main practical hurdle, so bring sandals and keep bags high. There is no shade or food on the beach itself, so stock up in Skanör first. Travel writers mention it as a bonus for visitors to the neighbouring Skanörs Havsbad.
