About Plage naturiste de Keranouat
Keranouat (also spelled Kerannouat) is a long, wild beach on the south coast of Trégunc in southern Finistère, between Concarneau and Pont-Aven. It is backed by the dunes and ponds of Trévignon, a 300-hectare protected natural area where dune snails, green lizards, songbirds and ducks live, and on clear days the Glénan archipelago is visible offshore. The beach is a broad stretch of white sand; part of it is the naturist area, entered past a group of rounded granite boulders that screen it from the rest of the beach. The official Brittany tourism site lists it as a naturist and wild beach where naturists can bathe legally. It is unsupervised, and the sea is the open Atlantic, so currents and the tides need attention. The setting is quiet and natural, with no buildings on the shore; visitors are a mix of walkers on the coastal path, families on the textile section and naturists further along.
Getting there
Keranouat is reached by the small roads south of Trégunc towards Trévignon; the tourism listing includes a car park and toilets. From the car park, walk through the dunes and along the sand to the rounded rocks that mark the start of the naturist zone. There is no lifeguard and no step-free path across the dunes.

Legal context
Tourisme Bretagne, the regional tourism board, lists Keranouat as a naturist beach where naturists may bathe legally; a directory cites a 2005 municipal decree, which was not seen. The beach lies in a protected dune area, so stay on marked paths. In France simple nudity is not itself an offence, but 'exhibition sexuelle' (Penal Code art. 222-32) can be charged where nudity is imposed on others, so nudity is safest on beaches authorised or tolerated by the commune.
Naturism at Plage naturiste de Keranouat sits under France's rules for officially designated nude beaches — explicit protection inside the marked area.
Full country law: France public nudity guide.
Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
