About Plage de Villata
Plage de Villata is a small, quiet beach on the east coast of Corsica in the commune of Sainte-Lucie-de-Porto-Vecchio, roughly 15 km north of Porto-Vecchio between the bays of San Ciprianu and Pinarellu. It lies below Camping Villata, a textile campsite, and has no resort development behind it, only maquis and low granite. The sea is the clear, calm water typical of this sheltered coast, with rocks and sandstone at the edges that are good for snorkelling. Guides describe the beach as split in two: one part is used by clothed bathers, mostly campsite guests, while the other is used by naturists; one directory puts the nude use at the southern end. It is a discreet, low-key spot rather than a formal naturist beach, and much smaller and calmer than busy Pinarellu beach to the north. Facilities are those of the campsite (toilets some distance from the sand); there is no lifeguard or beach bar on the sand itself.
Getting there
Villata is off the T10 coast road north of Porto-Vecchio, in the Sainte-Lucie-de-Porto-Vecchio area. The usual approach is through Camping Villata, a textile campsite; a 2013 camper report mentions a per-person fee for day access through the site, which may have changed, so ask at reception. Some directories mention free roadside parking nearby. There is no bus stop at the beach; the nearest services are at Sainte-Lucie and Pinarellu. Expect a short walk down sandy tracks; not wheelchair accessible.
What visitors say
The few accounts available describe Villata as calm, discreet and scenic, with Corsican maquis behind and clear water in front. Visitors note that textile campers and naturists share the beach, each keeping to their own part, and that it never gets crowded compared with Pinarellu. Older camper reviews mention that access through the campsite may cost a small fee and that toilets are a long walk from the sand. Information is thin and some of it dated, so check the current access arrangement locally.

Legal context
No municipal or tourism-board source designating Villata as a naturist beach was found (2026). Nude use is a long-standing informal practice on part of the beach; in France nudity outside a recognised area can be treated as sexual exhibition if someone complains, so keep to the naturist end and be discreet near campsite guests.
Naturism at Plage de Villata sits under France's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.

Researched 24 October 2026. No official source confirms naturist status, so treat it as unverified.

Frequently asked questions
Which part of Villata beach is nude?
Guides say the beach is split, with naturists using one end (one directory says the southern end) and campsite guests the other. Look for where others are undressed.
How do I get onto the beach?
Most visitors go through Camping Villata; ask at reception whether day visitors are allowed and if there is a fee.
Is Villata an official naturist beach?
No. Nudity is tolerated informally, not designated by the commune.
Are there facilities?
Nothing on the sand itself; the campsite has toilets some distance away, and shops and restaurants are at Pinarellu and Sainte-Lucie.
