About Plage de Tropica
Plage de Tropica lies on the flat eastern coast of Corsica in the commune of Linguizzetta, Haute-Corse, part of the long sandy shore that runs between the Bravone area and the Tavignano plain. Linguizzetta is known as the main naturist centre of the island: the naturist estates of Bagheera, Riva Bella and the Corsicana holiday village sit along this coastline, and Tropica is the beach in front of Corsicana, which is why some guides call it Plage Corsicana. It is a long, straight strand of fine sand backed by low dunes and Corsican maquis, with a gently shelving sea that is usually calm in summer. Compared with the large beach at Bagheera it is quieter and more natural: a naturist booking site describes it as moderately busy and without any facilities, and the beach guides that list Linguizzetta's naturist beaches include Tropica among them. In Corsica naturism is in practice tolerated near naturist establishments, and this shore is used nude by guests of the villages and by visitors who walk in. Without a bar, toilets or shade on the sand, it suits people who want space and quiet rather than services.
Getting there
Linguizzetta is on the T10 east-coast road, roughly between Aléria and Prunete. The beach is reached by tracks from the coast road towards the shore; the stretch in front of the naturist villages is generally used by their residents, and a beach guide notes that outsiders reach the naturist beaches on foot along the sand from neighbouring public beaches. A naturist booking site puts Tropica about ten minutes by car from the Riva Bella resort. There are no facilities on the sand, so bring water, shade and food, and take rubbish away.
Legal context
French law does not ban nudity on beaches as such, but exposure can be prosecuted where it is not accepted; a beach guide notes that in Corsica naturism is tolerated in practice only near naturist establishments. No municipal designation for Tropica was found (checked 2026).
Naturism at Plage de Tropica sits under France's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
