About Plage de Riva Bella

Plage de Riva Bella is the beach in front of the Riva Bella naturist resort and thalassotherapy centre at Linguizzetta, on the east coast of Corsica between Aléria and Bravone. The coast here is a long, straight shore of fine sand backed by dunes and coastal lagoons; Riva Bella's stretch is bordered inland by the Terrenzana pond. The naturist section is the part closest to the thalasso centre and is relatively short, about 250 m, after which the beach becomes textile and continues south between the Terrenzana and Diane ponds towards the wild Tallone shore. Naturism applies from early April to early November, matching the resort's season. The sand shelves gently into usually calm water, suitable for children, and the lagoon setting gives the area a quiet, natural feel. It is one of a chain of naturist beaches on this coast, alongside Bagheera and Tropica a few kilometres north. Most users are resort guests, but the beach is public and can be reached by outside visitors.

Getting there

Riva Bella is signposted from the T10 east-coast road at Linguizzetta. Access depends on the season: a barrier stands at the thalasso centre entrance, and in high season visitors are asked to leave an identity document; a first visit is reported to be free. Both free and paid parking are listed. You can also walk along the shore from the neighbouring textile beach to the south. The beach is flat but reached over soft sand.

What visitors say

Beach guides describe a pleasant, natural setting by the Terrenzana pond, with a short naturist stretch close to the resort and a long textile beach beyond. The barrier and ID requirement in high season are the main practical issue reported for outside visitors. Little independent visitor feedback on the beach itself was found.

Legal context

The section in front of the Riva Bella resort is naturist from 1 April to 5 November according to beach guides; we did not find a municipal order or official tourism page confirming its status (checked 2026). Beyond about 250 m the beach is textile. In France simple nudity is lawful only where it is authorised or customary; elsewhere it can be prosecuted as sexual exhibition (Code pénal art. 222-32) or breach a municipal order.

Naturism at Plage de Riva Bella sits under France's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
