About Paraga beach
Paraga is a beach on Mykonos, on the south coast of the island, where nudity is common but not universal. The sand strand is split into two parts. The central section is used mostly by families and day visitors. The secluded section on the right side is where most nudists sit, and it is the part people mean when they call Paraga a nude beach. Sun loungers are for rent, and there is a bar and a small mini-market near the sand. The beach is wide enough that the two areas are easy to keep apart, but the division is not marked by signs, so it helps to look at where the clothed families are before you settle in. The rocks on the south side of the beach are used by some gay visitors. In summer, the nude share drops as the beach fills up, and sources differ on how many visitors are nude on a given day. Outside the peak months the nudist section is the easier place to find a quiet spot.
Getting there
Buses to Paraga usually leave from the Fabrika bus station in Mykonos Town, which is the simplest way to reach it without a car. Driving is possible, but there is very little parking close to the beach, so in summer arrive early or expect to park further back on the road. Sources do not give a walking time or describe steps or paths, so expect a short walk from the road down to the sand. There is no stated wheelchair access. Sun loungers and a bar mean you can stay for the day without carrying much.
What visitors say
Visitors describe a split beach, with families in the middle and nudists on the secluded right side. One blog estimates that around half of visitors are nude, though others say the share falls in the busiest summer months. The beach has a relaxed atmosphere, with loungers, a bar and a small shop. Parking is the main complaint. Most of the sources are blogs and listings from 2020 to 2022, so current conditions may differ.
