About Mylos beach
Mylos (also spelled Milos) is a long, wide beach on the west coast of Lefkada, immediately south of the fishing village of Agios Nikitas, separated from it by a rocky headland. There is no road to the beach, which keeps it far quieter than Kathisma or Porto Katsiki. The shore is fine white gravel that continues into the water, giving the sea the milky light-blue colour typical of Lefkada's west coast. Most of it is unorganised: a single canteen rents sunbeds and umbrellas near the boat landing, and the rest of the beach is free. Greek and Italian nude-beach guides describe Mylos as a place where nudists find space away from the crowds; there is no signed nude zone. The cliffs give shade on the left side later in the day.
Getting there
From Agios Nikitas take the signposted footpath over the headland: about 20-30 minutes, occasionally steep, with a narrow section of carved steps; wear proper shoes. Alternatively, small boat taxis run from Agios Nikitas beach in summer (around 8 EUR return). Parking is in or above Agios Nikitas, where space is tight in high season. Buses from Lefkada town serve Agios Nikitas. Not wheelchair accessible.
What visitors say
Visitors praise the colour of the water and the uncrowded feel compared with Lefkada's famous west-coast beaches. Many arrive by boat taxi and walk back over the headland, or the reverse. Guides describe it as usually uncrowded, with room for nudists. Tips include bringing shade and water, as the facilities are limited to one canteen.
