About Lyckesand
Lyckesand is a long, shallow sandy beach on the east coast of northern Öland, just north of the Böda Sand holiday area in Borgholm municipality. A 2018 German travel-media roundup of Swedish FKK beaches, drawn from a European FKK guidebook, includes it as a naturist beach. That roundup is the only source we found, and it does not say which part of the beach is used nude or how busy it is. The Sveriges Naturistförbund map does not include it. Treat it as an informal spot where naturists may use a quiet stretch, not a designated area. In Sweden, being nude while bathing is not banned in itself, so a remote section of a long beach like this one is usually workable if you keep clear of families and stay discreet.
Getting there
Northern Öland is reached across the Öland Bridge from Kalmar, then by road 136 north through Borgholm towards Böda, about 100 km in total. Lyckesand lies on the coast north of Böda Sand. We found no reliable details on parking or facilities at the beach itself.
Legal context
Sweden has no general ban on nude bathing. Nudity can still lead to charges such as förargelseväckande beteende (disorderly conduct) or sexual harassment if it offends others. Lyckesand has no designated nude area and we found no signage or enforcement reports (checked 2026).
Naturism at Lyckesand sits under Sweden's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.

Researched 24 October 2026. No official source confirms naturist status, so treat it as unverified.

Frequently asked questions
Is Lyckesand an official nude beach?
No. It appears in a German list of Swedish FKK beaches, but no Swedish authority or the national naturist federation designates it.
Is nude bathing legal in Sweden?
There is no general ban on nude bathing, but behaviour that offends others can be prosecuted. On a mixed beach, choose an isolated stretch.
