About Little Banana Beach
Little Banana (Mikri Banana) is a small sandy cove on the south-west tip of Skiathos, on the far side of the headland from Koukounaries. It sits just north of the larger Banana beach (Megali Banana, also called Krassa), and a big rock outcrop divides the two. Little Banana is the island's best-known nude beach and among the most famous in Greece: nude bathing is the norm here, while Big Banana next door is the busier, music-and-watersports beach where most people wear swimsuits. The cove is slightly shorter than Big Banana, with fine golden sand, clear turquoise water that shelves gently, and pine-covered slopes behind. There is very little natural shade on the sand itself, so most people rent a sunbed and umbrella from the beach bar that runs the cove, which also sells drinks and snacks. The crowd is mixed: couples, gay and straight visitors, and long-time regulars from across Europe. In July and August the small cove fills up by late morning; early in the season or late in the day it is much calmer. The beach faces west and is a good place to watch the sunset.
Getting there
Take the Skiathos town bus along the south coast to the last stop at Koukounaries (stop 26); buses run frequently in summer. From the stop or the Koukounaries car park, follow the road and then the path over the headland toward Banana beach, about 15 to 20 minutes on foot; part of the way is a steep uphill climb on a rough track. Drivers can get closer but still have to walk down to the sand. From Big Banana, follow the shore around behind the rock to reach Little Banana. Not suitable for wheelchairs.
What visitors say
Visitors describe Little Banana as a relaxed, tolerant nude beach with lovely sand and very clear water, and as a quieter alternative to the party atmosphere of Big Banana. The most common complaints are the steep walk in, the lack of natural shade, and the price of sunbeds and umbrellas, which some reviewers found expensive in recent seasons. In high summer the cove gets crowded and sunbeds take up much of the sand. Most reports say behaviour is respectful, and many visitors recommend coming early or late in the day.

Legal context
Greece has no legally designated public nude beaches; nudity is tolerated by long custom at beaches such as Little Banana, and travel guides (greeka, kalispera) describe it as the island's nudist beach. No local ban on nudism found as of 2026. Next door at Big Banana, nudity is not the norm, so stay on the Little Banana side.
Naturism at Little Banana Beach sits under Greece's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
