About Plage naturiste du Jonquet

Le Jonquet is a small cove below the Corniche Varoise on the La Seyne-sur-Mer peninsula west of Toulon, just north of the Pointe de Saint-Selon and on the way from Fabrégas toward Cap Sicié. Guides list it as a naturist beach, and the neighbouring cove of Saint-Selon, which carries on to the south, is also used nude. The shore is a mix of grey pebbles and some sand under steep cliffs, with nothing built nearby, and the water is very clear, good for snorkelling over rocks. It is reached only on foot and so stays relatively quiet. Gay guides also list it, and the gay beach is described as the third cove after Plage du Boeuf and Le Jonquet, so expect a mixed crowd. There are no facilities at all.

Getting there

From La Seyne-sur-Mer, drive to the Fabrégas cove and follow the Corniche Varoise toward Cap Sicié. Guides describe a free roadside car park and a walk of about 15-20 minutes along the coast road and down a path to the cove; parking fills on summer weekends. There is no direct bus to the beach. The path is steep and rough, and the climb back is tiring, so bring water. Not wheelchair accessible.

What visitors say

Visitors describe a wild, undeveloped cove with very clear water that stays calm even in high season. The walk down and especially the climb back are the main drawbacks. Gay guides list it alongside the neighbouring coves, and reports describe a mix of naturists and gay men. Bring water, shade and shoes for the rocks.

Legal context

In France nudity outside an authorised area can be prosecuted as sexual exhibition (Code pénal art. 222-32), though long-established naturist coves are generally tolerated. Guides call Le Jonquet a naturist beach, but we found no municipal order from La Seyne-sur-Mer (checked 2026).

Naturism at Plage naturiste du Jonquet sits under France's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
