About Karavi beach
Karavi is a small, undeveloped beach on Serifos, just beyond Livadakia, south of the port village of Livadi. Apart from a few holiday homes behind it there is nothing here: no tavernas, no sunbeds and very little shade. That is why it has long been a favourite of nude bathers who want something close to town. It is usually quiet, and nude swimming is the norm rather than the exception, though no one has to undress. Bring an umbrella and water.
Getting there
Walk from Livadi past Livadakia beach along the dirt road and path, about 10 minutes beyond Livadakia.
Legal context
Greece has no national register of designated nudist beaches; nudity is formally sanctioned only at licensed naturist establishments, but on remote or traditionally nude beaches it is widely tolerated, and police generally act only if someone complains.
Naturism at Karavi beach sits under Greece's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
