About Kantia Beach
Kantia is a long sand-and-pebble beach on the Argolic Gulf just beyond the village of Asini, east of Nafplio and Tolo, with the quieter Kondyli and Iria beaches further east. Most of the shoreline in front of the village is ordinary family territory, with rented sunbeds and umbrellas, a few cafés and restaurants and a couple of small hotels. Nude bathing happens at the far right-hand end as you face the sea, reached along a short unpaved road beyond the main stretch. Visitors describe a noticeable number of nude sunbathers there, while the central part stays clothed. Because the beach is long and rarely packed, even in June and July, it is easy to find space well away from other people. The water is clear and warm early in the season. Nafplio-area guides point out that Greece has no formal nudist designation, so the nude end is simply an informal custom; you may still find a clothed family settling near you. Kantia is popular with younger locals and is noticeably calmer than the resort beach at Tolo. Expect sun and a mix of sand and small stones rather than fine sand all the way along.
Getting there
Kantia lies on the coast road east of Asini in the Nafplio area of Argolida; a car is the practical way to get there. Visitors report that parking is easy to find near the beach. For the nude end, follow the short dirt road that continues past the main beach to its right-hand (eastern) end; reviewers say it is unpaved but fine in dry weather. From where you park it is a short, flat walk onto the sand. No source we found describes public transport to the nude end or step-free access to that section.
What visitors say
Reviewers consistently describe Kantia as quiet and uncrowded compared with Tolo, with clear, warm water and plenty of room to spread out. Several mention a sizeable nude contingent at the right-hand end, reached by a short dirt road, and say the rest of the beach is used by families and couples in swimwear. Opinions differ on services: some say there are no shops and you should bring water and food, others mention two or three bars in the area. Parking is generally described as easy.

Legal context
Greece has no official nude-beach designation; Nafplio-area guides state plainly that Kantia is not officially nudist and that nude bathing at its far end is an informal custom. We found no local ordinance or signage about nudity here and no reports of enforcement (checked 2026).
Naturism at Kantia Beach sits under Greece's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
