About Gerontas Beach
Gerontas is a small, remote cove on the south-west coast of Milos, in the largely uninhabited western half of the island. High white cliffs enclose a narrow strip of dark, coarse sand, and the bay is best known for the arch-shaped rock on its right-hand side, which the national tourism board singles out in its Milos beach guide. The water is clear and shallow near the shore, and there are sea caves to explore by swimming. The beach is unorganised, with no sunbeds or kiosks, and shade only in the early morning when the cliffs block the sun. Because the strip of sand is narrow and the rocks behind it are uncomfortable to sit on, it feels full with only a few groups, and despite its isolation it draws a steady stream of visitors in summer, including boat trips. A Greek beach guide lists Gerontas as nudist-friendly, and a visitor review describes young people sunbathing nude there. There is no separate nude area; nudity is informal and depends on who is present, so it is more relaxed outside the peak boat-trip hours.
Getting there
From Adamas drive towards Achivadolimni and then Provatas. Beyond Provatas a signposted dirt road (in fair condition, though bumpy with sharp turns) ends at a parking area. From there a path crosses an old quarry area and descends to the beach in about 10 minutes over uneven, thorny ground; wear proper shoes. The easier alternative is one of the summer boat trips around Milos. There is no public transport and no wheelchair access.
What visitors say
Visitors praise the rock arch, the cliffs and the clear water, but note that the beach itself is a very narrow strip that fills up quickly, that the access road is rough and the path down is uneven and thorny, and that there is almost no shade. A visitor review mentions nude sunbathers; others visit as part of boat tours.

Legal context
Greece has no general legal framework for naturism and nudity is officially not permitted outside the few designated places; in practice nude bathing is widely tolerated on quiet, unorganised beaches as long as nobody objects. There is no naturist signage or designation at Gerontas; nude use is informal.
Naturism at Gerontas Beach sits under Greece's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
