About Eforie Sud Beach
Eforie Sud is the smaller and quieter of the two Eforie resorts on Romania's Black Sea coast, about 15 km south of Constanța, set on the strip of land between the sea and salt Lake Techirghiol. The nude beach associated with it is 'La Hamace' ('at the hammocks'), a stretch of sand on the boundary between Eforie Nord and Eforie Sud, away from the main resort fronts. Romanian naturists interviewed by the press describe it as a dedicated nudist beach and call it legendary; it has its own bar, umbrellas and sunbeds, which makes it unusual among Romania's mostly wild nude spots. It is said to be popular with LGBT visitors. The coast here is a wide, fine-sand beach with a gently shelving sea, and the Eforie beaches were artificially widened in a coastal protection project begun in 2021, so the shoreline layout may differ from older descriptions. Nudism inside the resorts themselves is not accepted, so keep to the recognised section.
Getting there
Eforie Nord and Eforie Sud are on the DN39 coast road south of Constanța and both have railway stations on the Constanța-Mangalia line, with frequent summer trains and minibuses from Constanța. La Hamace lies between the two resorts; head along the beach from the southern end of Eforie Nord or the northern edge of Eforie Sud, or ask locally for 'plaja La Hamace'. Parking is in the resorts along the streets behind the beach and fills up in July and August. The beach is flat sand, but there are no formal accessible paths to the nude section.
What visitors say
Romanian naturists quoted in the press call La Hamace one of the classic nude beaches of the coast, praising the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that it has a bar, sunbeds and umbrellas unlike most wild nude spots. It is described as mixed, with a notable LGBT presence. Recent accounts suggest the coastline has changed after beach-widening works and that nude areas along this stretch have become more crowded, so expect to ask locally where the section begins.

Legal context
Romania has no national list of official nude beaches; local press notes that nudism is not accepted inside the resorts, and public obscene acts can be fined under the public order law (Law 61/1991). La Hamace is a long-tolerated nudist section rather than one designated in an official source we could find (2026).
Naturism at Eforie Sud Beach sits under Romania's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
