About Dragonuddens Nakenbad
Dragonudden is a small point on Stöcksjö, a lake in the village of the same name just south-west of Umeå, and its beach has been used as a naturist bathing spot for many years. It is not a sea beach. It is a quiet lakeside spot rather than a big beach. The local naturist association, Föreningen Umenaturist, looks after the site under a maintenance agreement with Umeå kommun, which covers cleaning and upkeep. Reports mention a barbecue site, benches and toilets, but nothing more. There are no kiosk, lifeguard or rental services. The bathing season is short and the water stays cool even in July, but the long northern summer evenings make late swims popular. New housing has been built near the point in recent years. In 2017, SVT reported a dispute between naturists and some new neighbours who wanted to use the beach clothed. The municipality said the rules were unclear and suggested that dividing the beach could be one solution. Visitors should expect that clothed bathers may also be present.
Getting there
Stöcksjö lies about 10 km south-west of central Umeå. Drive out towards Stöcksjö and follow local roads to the Dragonudden point on the lake shore. The final approach is via small residential and forest roads. Parking is informal and limited. Regional buses serve Stöcksjö, but check current timetables at Länstrafiken Västerbotten. The last stretch to the beach is a short walk on an uneven path, not suited to wheelchairs.

Legal context
SVT (2017) reported that Dragonudden has long been a naturist area, maintained by Föreningen Umenaturist under a care agreement with Umeå kommun, but that the agreement gives no exclusive rights. A municipal official called the rules unclear amid a conflict with new neighbours over swimwear. No current municipal page was found confirming the designation, so treat it as clothing-optional and be considerate.
Naturism at Dragonuddens Nakenbad sits under Sweden's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
