About Delfini Beach

Delfini is a long bay on the west coast of Syros, about 2 km north of the fishing village of Kini, and is often called the longest beach on the island. The shore is light, fine sand mixed with pebbles, the water is clear and shallow, and the bay faces west for sunsets. The part nearest the road is semi-organised, with sunbeds and umbrellas for hire, a café directly above the sand, a beach bar and a taverna further up; several hotels have opened nearby in recent years. Nude bathing happens at the far, quieter end of the bay, away from the sunbeds; guides list Delfini as one of the two main nudist beaches on Syros, though they disagree whether the nude section is on the left or the right as you arrive, so walk to the end furthest from the bar and look for others. Some visitors find it windy in summer and stony in places. Varvaroussa beach lies beyond it.

Getting there

From Kini, take the small road north for about 2 km; it is a few minutes by car or scooter, or a walk of around 25-30 minutes on the dirt track/coastal path. Small boats from Kini harbour also run to the beach in summer. Kini is served by bus from Ermoupoli. Parking is informal along the access road near the café. Walk along the beach to the far end for the nude section; not wheelchair accessible beyond the café area.

What visitors say

Visitors like Delfini's size, sunsets and clear shallow water, and say there is always space to spread out away from the sunbeds. Nude bathers gather at the far end and report few problems. Complaints focus on summer wind (though other guides call it sheltered), stones in places and the rough access track. Most visitors stay in nearby Kini.

Legal context

There is no official naturist designation; in Greece nudity is formally permitted only at licensed naturist sites, but on remote ends of beaches like Delfini it is generally tolerated (2026). Keep clothed near the sunbed area and café.

Naturism at Delfini Beach sits under Greece's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
