About Chalikiada Beach
Chalikiada (also spelled Halikiada) is a secluded cove on the east coast of Agistri, a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf, about 1 km south-east of the main port of Skala, past Skliri beach. It sits below steep cliffs and rock formations, with pines on the slopes behind, and faces open, very clear deep-blue water. The shore is pebbles, some of them large, with no sand. Because the only land access is a steep, rocky scramble, it has stayed undeveloped and quiet, and it has long been the island's nude beach: the Greek National Tourism Organisation's Agistri page notes it is often favoured by nudists for its seclusion, and Athens media list it among the best nude spots within reach of the capital. Today the crowd is mixed, but most people are nude. There are no facilities at all, so bring water, food and something to lie on; shade comes only from the cliffs and trees at the back in the morning or late afternoon.
Getting there
Agistri is about 40 minutes by fast boat (Flying Dolphin) or around 2 hours by ferry from Piraeus, or a short hop from Aegina. From Skala port, walk south-east along the coast road past Skliri beach (about 20 minutes in total). There is no proper path for the final section: you climb down a steep, rocky slope with slippery rocks, so wear sturdy shoes and take care. It is unsuitable for small children, older visitors or anyone with limited mobility. In summer some boat trips and water taxis from Skala drop off at the cove, the easiest way in. No parking at the beach.
What visitors say
Visitors describe Chalikiada as one of the most beautiful and peaceful coves on Agistri, with exceptionally clear water and a relaxed, mostly nude crowd. Almost everyone mentions the descent: steep, rocky and slippery, and the main reason the beach stays quiet. Advice is to wear proper shoes, carry everything you need (there is nothing on site), bring a mat for the large pebbles, and consider a boat drop-off. It gets busier at weekends with visitors from Athens.

Legal context
Greece has no formally designated public nudist beaches; nudity outside licensed naturist establishments can technically fall under the penal provision on indecent acts causing scandal, but at Chalikiada it is long-standing and openly acknowledged, including by the national tourism board's beach guide (2026). No enforcement reports were found.
Naturism at Chalikiada Beach sits under Greece's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
