About FKK Ada Bojana Nudist Resort

FKK Ada Bojana is a naturist holiday village on Ada, a triangular island at the mouth of the Bojana River on Montenegro's border with Albania, about 15 km south-east of Ulcinj. The river borders it on two sides and a roughly 3 km sandy Adriatic beach on the third. The settlement has operated since 1973 as part of the Ulcinjska Rivijera tourist complex and is described by Montenegro's tourist board as a nudist settlement; it is the country's largest. Accommodation is in single-storey villas and bungalows with double and triple rooms, wooden houses near the beach, and a campsite with tent and caravan pitches (some with electricity and water) under the pines. Air-conditioned units have a balcony or terrace. On site are several restaurants and bars, including beach bars, tennis courts and horse riding; the river mouth is a well-known windsurfing and kitesurfing spot, and wooden fish restaurants on stilts line the riverbank. Families and couples make up much of the clientele. Nudity is the norm on the beach and in the village but not expected in the restaurant or reception.

Legal context & local rules

Ada Bojana is a designated naturist area promoted by Montenegro's national tourist board; nudity is lawful within the settlement and its beach.

Montenegro explicitly recognises and tolerates nudism in designated naturist areas, making it one of the most progressive Balkan nations for naturism. Nudity is legally protected within official naturist zones while prohibited outside them. The Adriatic coastline hosts several established naturist beaches and resorts, with Ada Bojana standing as the region's largest and most famous nudist settlement.

Ada Bojana

Ada Bojana is a triangular river island at Montenegro's southernmost point, on the Albanian border. It is bounded on two sides by the two arms of the Bojana River and on the third by the Adriatic. Its sea side is a sandy beach about 3 km long, continuing the Velika Plaža sand coast south of Ulcinj. The island has been a naturist settlement since 1973, when the FKK Ada Bojana resort of bungalows, rooms and a campsite opened among the pines. In 2023 it marked its 50th anniversary. Nudity is allowed everywhere except the restaurant, reception and bar, and the beach is used by naturist families, couples and singles. Behind the sand, the riverbanks are lined with wooden fish restaurants on stilts, and the river mouth is a well-known kitesurfing spot. The sea is shallow over sandbanks, but when it is windy strong rip currents form, so swim with care. Ada Bojana hosted the third Naturist Games Without Borders in June 2025.

Camp Full Monte

Camp Full Monte is a small, clothing-optional eco campsite in the hills at Prijevor, in Herceg Novi municipality at the western tip of Montenegro, close to the Croatian border. It covers about eight hectares of terraced meadows and oak woods with a natural spring and a stream, and is run as an off-grid eco-project. There are only about twenty pitches and the site takes tents only, with cars kept off the camping area to keep it quiet; fully equipped tents can be hired. The sanitary block uses composting toilets and solar-heated water, and guests share a communal kitchen and barbecue, with hammocks around the site, breakfast and a dish of the day on offer. Clothing is optional: guests can go nude or stay dressed as they prefer. The camp has run themed weekends and working holidays around gardening, yoga and art. The Bay of Kotor towns of Herceg Novi, Perast and Kotor and the city of Dubrovnik are within an hour's drive.

Crvena glavica beach

Crvena Glavica ('red head', after the reddish rock of the headland) is a string of small coves on the Budva Riviera between Sveti Stefan and Petrovac, just south of the Sveti Stefan peninsula and next to the cove of Drobni Pijesak. Guides disagree on the count, describing anything from three main coves to seven small ones, separated by rocky points and backed by pine-covered cliffs. The beaches are a mix of small pebbles, rocks and some concrete sunbathing terraces, with clear water. Part of the shore is developed: Galija beach club runs a paid section with loungers, umbrellas, showers, changing areas and toilets. The nude use is in the more secluded, harder-to-reach coves away from the beach club, where the cliffs give shelter on both sides and there are no facilities. It is a long-standing but low-key clothing-optional spot that relatively few visitors know about, so it is quieter than the main Budva beaches even in high summer.

FKK Jaz Beach

Jaz is one of the largest beaches on the Budva Riviera, a curving bay of fine sand and small pebbles about 2.5-3 km west of Budva old town. The main part of the beach is a busy summer beach with sunbed concessions, bars and a lively nightlife scene with bars and clubs nearby. The beach is divided into two parts, and the smaller, more secluded part, beyond the main sections and surrounded by greenery, has long been the place where naturists bathe. A campsite listing describes the beach as about 1.2 km long with a smaller part reserved for naturists. The water is clean and shallow near the shore, and the bay is sheltered. Nude use is traditional rather than clearly signposted, and guides say marking and tolerance vary from year to year, so it is worth checking on arrival. The naturist end is noticeably quieter than the main beach and suits people looking for a simple, uncrowded spot, though the music from the main beach and its bars can carry in high season.
