About Zandvoort Nudist Beach
Zandvoort's nude beach occupies the southern end of the resort's long North Sea beach, beyond the last beach entrance at the end of Boulevard Paulus Loot, in the stretch locals know as South Beach or 'Amsterdam Beach'. The town council designated it for nude recreation in 1975, and it is often described as the most visited nude beach in the Netherlands. Nude recreation is permitted between beach poles 68 and 70; on busy days nudity often begins a little before the official start. The beach is wide sand with a gently sloping seabed and high dunes behind. A row of seasonal pavilions stands at the start of the section, including Bodhi Beach, Manii Beach, Paal 69 and Outpost; the long-running Adam & Eva, the last pavilion that allowed nudity on its terrace, has closed, and the current owners do not allow nude recreation on their terraces. In 2026 the four pavilions were put up for sale together. Beyond pole 70, the former southern part of the nude beach became the Noordvoort beach reserve at the end of 2022, where sitting, lying and swimming are not allowed. There is no lifeguard on the nude section, and a kitesurf zone near pole 68 is unsafe for swimmers.
Getting there
Trains run to Zandvoort aan Zee station via Haarlem. From town, head south along Boulevard Paulus Loot to the last beach entrance, then walk south on the sand to the signed section between poles 68 and 70; it is a long walk from the station, so many visitors cycle. Paid parking lies roughly 700 to 850 metres from the nude section, and there are bicycle racks closer by. The access is over dunes and soft sand, and the beach is not considered suitable for wheelchair users.
What visitors say
Guides and visitors describe Zandvoort's nude beach as large, busy on hot days and easy to reach from Amsterdam, with a mix of naturists and clothed visitors drawn by the beach clubs. Naturist writers note tension between nude recreation and pavilion operators seeking a different crowd, events and festivals, and regret the closure of Adam & Eva and the loss of the southern stretch to the Noordvoort reserve. Tips include walking past the pavilions for more space, avoiding the kitesurf zone when swimming, and remembering that there is no lifeguard.
