About Taroona Nude Beach (Hinsby Beach)

Small nude beach on the River Derwent at Taroona, a southern suburb of Hobart, Tasmania. It is a section of shore naturally screened by a rocky outcrop just beyond the south-western end of Hinsby Beach, reached by Jenkins Street, Hinsby Road or the Taroona Foreshore Track. Facilities are those of the suburb, and the water of the Derwent estuary is cool for much of the year. Nudity is customary rather than signposted, so keep to the secluded section.

This Australia naturist beach is a clothing-optional place in a traditionally tolerated setting. Families are welcome.

Legal context
