About Mlaska Beach (Mala Mlaska)

Mlaska is a bay on the north coast of Hvar, about 4 km west of Sućuraj at the island's far eastern tip, facing the mainland across the Hvar channel. The Split-Dalmatia County tourist board describes a sand and pebble beach with rocky and concrete sunbathing areas and natural shade from pines, part of which is set aside for naturists. The naturist part is the section known as Mala Mlaska. The bay was long served by Kamp Mlaska, a campsite run half as textile and half as FKK, with its own nudist stretch of beach and a restaurant. A Slovenian camping guide reported that the campsite closed on 25 July 2025 because it lacked an official category, and we found no news of a reopening, so the restaurant and other services may not be running. The water is shallow near shore, which suits children.

Getting there

From the Drvenik-Sućuraj car ferry, drive about 4 km west from Sućuraj along the island road and take the turning down to Mlaska bay. Parking is near the former campsite. There is no regular bus to the bay, so a car, bike or boat is needed. The final approach is a short walk on paths and pebbles. Check locally whether the campsite and its facilities are operating before relying on them.

Legal context

Croatia permits nudity only at designated places. The Split-Dalmatia County tourist board states that part of Mlaska beach is separated for naturists. The adjoining Kamp Mlaska, which ran the FKK section, was reported closed from 25 July 2025; how the naturist area is marked now is unknown (checked 2026).

Naturism at Mlaska Beach (Mala Mlaska) sits under Croatia's rules for officially designated nude beaches — explicit protection inside the marked area.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
