About Strandslag Falga (ook naaktstrand)

This North Sea naturist beach is on the coast south of Den Helder, toward Julianadorp, in the dune belt of the Kop van Holland. The nude section runs between beach poles 4.09 and 5.0, the stretch between the Falga beach entrance (strandslag 4) to the north and De Zandloper (strandslag 5) to the south, and it is signposted. The beach is wide, with pale fine sand backed by high dunes and open sea in front. Groynes reach into the water about every 200 metres. They show at low tide, and swimming close to them is dangerous because of the currents. There is no shade or natural shelter, and no toilets or showers on the nude stretch itself. The nearest facility is the Zee van Tijd beach pavilion, which you pass if you come from the Zandloper side, and an ice cream cart sometimes works the beach in summer. Visitors say it is spacious and clean, with a mix of couples, families and solo visitors. It is calm outside hot weekends, and on warm summer days it fills up.

Getting there

By car, take the Zanddijk south of Den Helder to the Falga beach entrance (Strandopgang Falga, 1787 PP Julianadorp). From there you are right at the nude section. The Zandloper entrance further south also has parking, and from there the walk along the beach is a little longer. Reviewers have described parking as free, while one guide lists Falga as paid, so check the signs on arrival. Both entrances have bike racks. The nearest bus stop, Middenvliet, is about 3 km away on foot. The dune crossings are steep, soft sand, so they are unsuitable for wheelchairs or anyone with limited mobility.

What visitors say

Reviews from 2014 to 2025 are mostly positive. They describe a quiet, roomy, clean beach with a friendly, relaxed mood and good swimming, and visitors from the northern provinces find it easy to reach. Families and solo visitors both report feeling welcome. The common complaints are the lack of toilets and other facilities, the steep sandy dune climb, and crowding on hot days. One solo woman reported being approached repeatedly by young men, which spoiled her visit. Late-summer and weekday visits are described as the most peaceful.

Frequently asked questions

Where exactly is the nude section?

Between beach poles 4.09 and 5.0, from the Falga entrance south toward De Zandloper. Signs mark the area.

Are there toilets?

Not on the nude stretch itself. The nearest facilities are at the Zee van Tijd beach pavilion near the Zandloper entrance.

Is it safe to swim?

The water is generally rated well, but stay away from the groynes that run into the sea about every 200 m, because the currents around them are dangerous.

Is it accessible?

No. The dune crossings are steep and soft, so the beach is hard to reach for wheelchair users or people with limited mobility.
