About Stauseebad Cossebaude
The Stauseebad Cossebaude is a fee-paying open-air bath on the western edge of Dresden, run by the city's bathing company Dresdner Bäder. Swimmers use a roughly 45,000 m² section of the reservoir itself rather than a conventional pool, backed by a large lawn shaded by chestnut trees. Alongside the lake area there is a 485 m² non-swimmer pool with a water mushroom, a 180 m² toddler paddling pool, a giant slide and a tube slide, a playground, sports areas and a café/snack bar run by a tenant. Windsurfing is possible on the reservoir. The operator lists Freikörperkultur (naturism) among the bath's features, and a geocache description mentions a small FKK area among the sports and play zones, so nude sunbathing is confined to its own part of the grounds rather than the whole bath. The exact position of the FKK lawn is not published; ask at the entrance.
Getting there
The bath is at Meißner Straße 26, 01156 Dresden (Cossebaude), on the main road along the Elbe west of the city. There are car and bicycle parking spaces; numbers and fees were not published. Cossebaude is reachable by public transport from central Dresden; check the DVB/VVO timetable for the nearest stop. Admission in 2026 was €6.00 for adults (€5.50 online), €4.00 reduced and €3.50 for children, with a €5.00 after-work rate on weekdays from 16:00; the ticket desk closes one hour before the bath. The operator describes the bath as barrier-free.

Legal context
Nude bathing is not a criminal offence in Germany. Here the municipal operator Dresdner Bäder itself lists naturism as a feature of the bath, so nudity is permitted within the designated FKK area under the bath's rules (checked 2026).
Naturism at Stauseebad Cossebaude sits under Germany's rules for officially designated nude beaches — explicit protection inside the marked area.
Full country law: Germany public nudity guide.
Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 25 October 2026.
