About Spiaggia Torre la Sal

Torre la Sal is a long beach of sand and gravel in Cabanes, on the Castellón coast, named after an old defence tower that stands in a small eucalyptus grove behind the shore. It runs for about 2 km, with a promenade, showers, play areas and places to eat, and a marine biology research centre sits beside it. To the north the coast continues as a long natural beach in front of the Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca natural park, a wetland of more than 7 km. The Spanish Naturist Federation lists Torre la Sal, but its own description points naturists about 1.5 km further on, to the beach by the Cudolà naturist campsite and the Cuartell Vell stretch, which it describes as ideal for walking nude. Regional tourism describes Torre la Sal itself as a quiet, semi-urban beach with no mention of nudity. Storm damage and beach restoration works have affected the shore in recent years. Note: the Spanish Naturist Federation is the only source we found that reports nude bathing here, and other guides do not mention it. Nude use may be occasional or limited to the quieter end, so expect most visitors to be clothed and check on arrival.

Getting there

Torre la Sal is on the coast of Cabanes, with direct access to the sand from the promenade. For nude bathing, continue north along the shore about 1.5 km towards the Cudolà and Cuartell Vell area, where access is harder.

Legal context

Public nudity is not an offence in Spain. The Spanish Naturist Federation lists Torre la Sal, but there is no municipal designation and nude bathing in practice centres on the Cudolà/Cuartell Vell area to the north (2026).

Naturism at Spiaggia Torre la Sal sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
