About Spiaggia del Trebbia
The Spiaggia fluviale del Trebbia is a river beach on the Trebbia in the Apennine hills of the province of Piacenza, downstream of Bobbio, in the comune of Corte Brugnatella. Locals call it the Secchiello beach, after the bend in the river where it lies. It is a typical Trebbia shore of white pebbles, gravel and rock slabs beside the clear river water. Corte Brugnatella's municipal executive formally established it as a naturist beach by resolution no. 34 of 23 June 2021, and the Italian naturist federation FENAIT lists it among Italy's official naturist sites. It is one of only two river beaches on FENAIT's official list. Reaching it means fording the river, so it feels secluded even though the road is close. There are no services of any kind.
Getting there
Leaving Bobbio on the provincial road, look for the rubbish bins at the roadside. Opposite them, on the left-hand side of the road, is a closed, rusty gate to the Trebbia park. Most people park along the provincial road. Beside the gate, a steep path drops to the river. Ford the Trebbia (only when the water is low), then walk along the right over white pebbles for about 10 minutes to the beach. There is no public transport to the spot and no wheelchair access.
Legal context
Corte Brugnatella established the naturist beach by giunta resolution no. 34 of 23 June 2021, and FENAIT lists it as an official naturist beach recognised by the municipality. Outside the designated stretch, public nudity in Italy can still be sanctioned, so stay within the beach area.
Naturism at Spiaggia del Trebbia sits under Italy's rules for officially designated nude beaches — explicit protection inside the marked area.
Full country law: Italy public nudity guide.
Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
