About Beach Galeazza
Galeazza is a stretch of rocky Ligurian coastline just east of Oneglia, the eastern half of Imperia on the Riviera di Ponente, running toward Diano Marina. Rather than one beach it is a chain of small coves and inlets below the hillside, with a mix of sand, gravel and flat rocks; the water is clear and the rocks are used for diving and sunbathing. Naturist use here is informal: Italian travel roundups include Galeazza among the naturist spots of western Liguria, but one local guide describes nudity as tolerated rather than designated and practised mainly in the more secluded coves, away from the stretches used by clothed swimmers. There are no beach services, no lifeguards and no sunbed concessions, so this is a bring-everything place. Expect a quiet, local crowd outside August; finding the nude-used coves means walking along the shore and choosing the less visible inlets.
Getting there
Galeazza is reached on foot or by bike from Imperia: a disused former road just outside the town gives access to the coastline, and from it you scramble down to the coves. Imperia (Oneglia) has a railway station on the Genoa–Ventimiglia line and plenty of town parking, but there is no dedicated beach car park. Paths down to the water are rough and uneven, so wear sturdy shoes; it is not wheelchair accessible.
What visitors say
The few accounts available describe Galeazza as a low-key, uncrowded rocky shore used mostly by locals, with naturists keeping to the more hidden coves. Visitors praise the clear water and the rocks for diving but note the lack of any services and the rough access. Privacy is described as limited, since parts of the shore are visible from the path, so discretion is advised.

Legal context
Italy has no national law designating nude beaches; court rulings (Cassazione) have treated nudity at places customarily used by naturists as not in itself an offence, but local ordinances can apply. Galeazza has no municipal designation or signage that we found, so nudity is tolerated custom only (status checked 2026).
Naturism at Beach Galeazza sits under Italy's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
