About Spiaggia Cava Casali
Cava Casali is a small rocky beach below the cliffs of the Trieste coast near Sistiana, reached from the coast road (SS14) around kilometre 137. Like neighbouring Costa dei Barbari, it is one of several spots on this shore used by nude bathers, with flat rocks for sunbathing and clear, deep water. There are no services, and the path down is steep, so good shoes are useful. Nudity is customary rather than formally designated.
This Italy naturist beach is a clothing-optional place in a traditionally tolerated setting. Families are welcome.
Legal context
Naturism at Spiaggia Cava Casali sits under Italy's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
