About Praia de San Miro

San Miro is a small cove of 127 m in Malpica de Bergantiños on the Costa da Morte (A Coruña), in a Natura 2000 site. It mixes rock, gravel and golden sand, and its most striking feature is a waterfall (fervenza) that drops straight onto the beach and into the sea. Its remoteness keeps it quiet, and it is mainly used by nude bathers and surfers. The waves range from moderate to strong, and FEN warns it is dangerous for swimming, though fine for sunbathing. There are no facilities.

Getting there

A wooden stairway leads down to the beach. You can drive via the village of Buño, or walk the 'pinos no mar' coastal path from Malpica, which runs through pine woods along the cliffs towards Razo beach (Carballo). The walk is scenic but long; the cove is about 11 km from Malpica.

Legal context

Spanish law does not prohibit public nudity, and FEN notes that nudism is legal on any Spanish beach; this beach is on FEN's list of beaches with a traditional nude use. No local restriction is known (2026).

Naturism at Praia de San Miro sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
