About Praia de Ponzos

Ponzos is a 1.4 km sandy beach about 10 km north of Ferrol (A Coruña), facing the open Atlantic between Cabo Prior and Valdoviño. It has a long-established nude tradition. The surf is strong, though the beach is somewhat sheltered from westerly storms, and it hosts a stage of the Galician open surf circuit. Nude bathers mostly use the northern part, towards Valdoviño, the end farthest from the road access near Cabo Prior. It is unusually well equipped for a nude beach: wheelchair-accessible, with parking, toilets, showers, bins, lifeguards and Red Cross cover in summer.

Getting there

From Ferrol, follow the DP-3603 and the turn signed for Ponzos. The car park is next to the southern access. To reach the nude area, walk north along the sand towards Valdoviño. The access is suitable for wheelchair users.
