About Praia de Naturismo Barra Seca ES.

Barra Seca is Espírito Santo's only naturist beach and one of the eight beaches recognised by the Brazilian Naturist Federation (FBrN). It lies on the remote northern coast of the state, north of Pontal do Ipiranga in Linhares municipality and about 140 km from Vitória, near where the Barra Seca river reaches the Atlantic. The naturist area is small, about 200 m of beach, and is run by NatES, the Espírito Santo naturist congregation, which has looked after it since 1994. This is open ocean: the sea is rough and the sand coarse, so it is more a place to lie out and paddle than to swim far. What sets Barra Seca apart is the facility the association maintains: a shared kitchen, barbecue, fridge, fresh water, toilets and showers, shaded benches, and a camping area with power. There are no vendors, so visitors bring their own food and drink. NatES reports roughly 1,500 visitors a year, and the area welcomes couples, singles and families, with separate spots for first-timers, members, couples and families. Nudity is expected inside the area and photography needs consent.

Getting there

From Linhares take the BR-101 and the road to Pontal do Ipiranga, turn right at the Pontal roundabout and follow the signposted unpaved road (around 20 km) towards Barra Seca. The last stretch is across the Ipiranga river: leave the car by the road and hire the boatman who ferries visitors across. By public transport, take the Linhares to Pontal do Ipiranga bus, then arrange the road and boat leg locally. Crossing costs and parking details are not published, so confirm with NatES before travelling.
