About Praia de Combouzas

Combouzas (also spelled Cambouzas) is a beach of fine white sand in the municipality of Arteixo, about 19 km west of A Coruña, next to the larger Barrañán beach. It is roughly 300 m long and 30 m wide, sheltered by dunes that are useful on windy days. The beach has a long-established nudist tradition, and A Coruña's official tourism site lists it as a nudist beach; the Spanish Naturist Federation does too. It is unusually well equipped for a nude beach: Blue Flag status, lifeguards, toilets, showers, a beach bar and access for people with reduced mobility. The surf can be dangerous for swimming but is good for surfing. It gets busy in high season. Arteixo is regarded as nudist-friendly, especially after the council dropped a proposed nudity ban from its draft beach ordinance in 2013 following objections from the federation.

Getting there

Combouzas is reached on foot from the road between Arteixo and Caión, with parking nearby. Arriva buses run from A Coruña. The beach is adapted for people with reduced mobility, with accessible facilities.
