About Praia de Baleo

Baleo is often called the prettiest beach in Valdoviño, on the open Atlantic coast north of Ferrol. The main beach is about 400 m of fine golden sand with strong surf and wind; it is popular with surfers and fairly busy in summer. It has parking, showers, a picnic area and a lifeguard in season. At low tide you can walk along the sand to a smaller cove of the same name, separated by rocks, and that is where nude bathers usually settle. The surf and wind make swimming risky on many days.

Getting there

Signposted from the coast road in Valdoviño, with a car park behind the beach. The nude cove is reached along the sand at low tide; check tide times so you are not cut off. Buses serve Valdoviño.
