About Praia de Baldaio
Baldaio is a huge sandy beach of about 4 km in Carballo, on the Costa da Morte of A Coruña. Behind it lies the Baldaio marsh and lagoon, crossed by three small streams, one of Galicia's most important coastal wetlands and protected under Natura 2000. The sand is fine and golden and the beach is up to 200 m wide. Surf is moderate to strong, attracting surfers and anglers. FEN lists it as a beach with nude use and describes a good atmosphere, though it does not pinpoint a section; with this much space, nude bathers tend to spread out away from the main accesses. It holds a Blue Flag, has lifeguards, showers and toilets in summer, an accessible entrance, and a drinking-water spring. Sunsets over the Atlantic are a highlight. Note: the Spanish Naturist Federation is the only source we found that reports nude bathing here, and other guides do not mention it. Nude use may be occasional or limited to the quieter end, so expect most visitors to be clothed and check on arrival.
Getting there
Reach it from Carballo towards Laracha and then the Arteixo to Baldaio road. Access points with parking are along this road, including one adapted for wheelchair users. The coastal route from Razo past Caión and Malpica makes a scenic approach, with restaurants along the way.
