About Praia da Aguieira

This Aguieira is a small, isolated beach on the Atlantic side of the O Grove peninsula in the Rías Baixas, sheltered behind Punta Aguieira and looking out to the island of Sálvora. It is only about 100 metres long, with golden sand framed by eroded granodiorite rock formations, and it lies within a Natura 2000 protected area. Despite the headland it can be windy and the waves moderate. The Spanish Naturist Federation describes it as a beach of well-established naturist tradition and considers it ideal for families with children. Occupancy is moderate, and there are no lifeguards or showers. Do not confuse it with the much longer Aguieira beach in Porto do Son, further north.

Getting there

The federation classes the beach as isolated and unspoiled; the nearest interurban bus (Pontevedra-O Grove) stops about 10 km away, so a car is the practical option. We found no published description of the path or parking, so check locally. No facilities and no wheelchair access.

Legal context

Public nudity is not an offence in Spain, and the Spanish Naturist Federation (FEN) lists Aguieira (O Grove) as a beach of naturist tradition. There is no municipal designation (2026).

Naturism at Praia da Aguieira sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
