About Praia Castiñeira

Castiñeira is a beach in San Vicente do Mar on the western, open-sea side of the O Grove peninsula in Pontevedra. It is about 400 m of white, coarse-grained sand, with clear turquoise water and moderate surf, in an untouched setting with no buildings in sight, inside a protected Natura 2000 area. Few people visit, and it is well known as a nude beach. Wind is common on this coast and can make it cool even in summer. It sits beside the tiny cove of Con do Corvo.

Getting there

Follow the O Grove–San Vicente do Mar road; the car park at Castiñeira is the nearest to both this beach and Con do Corvo. In summer many camper vans use the area. Buses run from Pontevedra to O Grove, about 8 km away. No facilities on the beach.

What visitors say

Visitors describe Castiñeira as beautiful and quite popular with nude bathers, with clear water and coarse white sand. The most frequent caveat is the wind, which often makes it cool. It is praised for its natural setting with no buildings in view.
