About Praia As Margaritas
As Margaritas is one of a string of small coves in the O Carreirón Natural Park, the protected southern tip of A Illa de Arousa, an island linked to the mainland by a bridge in the Ría de Arousa. The park is a small peninsula of about 1.3 km² joined to the island by a sandy isthmus, and is part of a protected area for birds. Starting from the car park, the coves follow one another: Xastelas (mostly clothed, as it is closest to parking), then A Lameira, Lontreira, As Margaritas, Punta Carreirón, Petóns and Espiños. From Lameira onwards nudity is normal, and FEN considers the whole chain ideal for naturists. As Margaritas has pale sand, rocks and calm, clear water, with few people. Dogs are not allowed in the park.
Getting there
Cross the bridge onto A Illa de Arousa and turn off at the roundabout at the island entrance for the natural park. The road passes two campsites and ends at a small paid car park that is often full, so FEN recommends cycling. Cars cannot reach the coves: walk the park paths south past Xastelas and Lameira to As Margaritas. No dogs.
Amenities
Legal context
Spain has no national law against public nudity. The Carreirón coves are FEN nudist-tradition beaches inside a natural park; park rules ban dogs and cars on the paths, not nudity (checked 2026).
Naturism at Praia As Margaritas sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
Full country law: Spain public nudity guide.
Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
