About Polis camping beach

The Polis camping beach (Dasoudi, by the municipal campsite at Polis Chrysochous on Chrysochou Bay, north-west Cyprus) is a Blue Flag sand-and-pebble beach with calm, shallow water, lifeguards in season, sunbeds and water sports. It is a normal clothed beach. A naturist guide to Cyprus, quoted by the Cyprus Mail, reports that a few naturist couples sunbathe discreetly under the bushes further along the shore beyond the organised section, even in midsummer. There is no designated area; nude use is occasional and depends on keeping away from the campsite and families.

Getting there

The beach is next to the Polis Chrysochous municipal campsite, on the edge of Polis town, with car parking at the beach. For the quieter stretch, walk along the shore away from the campsite and the organised beach.

Legal context

Cyprus has no official nudist beaches and public nudity is technically illegal; authorities generally ignore discreet nude sunbathing where no one complains, but signs at Avdimou warn of prosecution and arrests have been reported there (Cyprus Mail, 2022).

Naturism at Polis camping beach sits under Cyprus's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
