About Playa Paso del Salgo
Paso del Salgo is a small rocky cove on the north-west coast of Gran Canaria in Gáldar, on the stretch of cliffs around Punta de Sardina. It is about 100 metres long, made of rock rather than sand, at the foot of a cliff, in an isolated and unspoiled setting. Spain's national tourism portal describes it as a small nudist beach in a little-visited natural area, and a regional guide notes that nude bathing here is a long-standing tradition; the Spanish Naturist Federation lists it too. The sea is usually moderate but the area is windy, and the water is clear. There are no facilities at all, no lifeguard and no shade. It is a spot for experienced coastal walkers and swimmers who are comfortable on rocks, rather than a beach day with children.
Getting there
Head towards Sardina del Norte on the GC-202. Guides describe the final approach as a walk from the lighthouse road (Carretera del Faro), and the national tourism portal gives a walk of about 1.4 km after leaving the car. The path is rough, so wear proper shoes; access is otherwise by boat. There is no public transport to the cove and no wheelchair access.
