About Playa naturista de Almayate
Almayate is a long beach of dark sand and gravel east of Málaga, in Vélez-Málaga on the Costa del Sol, near the mouth of the Vélez river. FEN gives the beach as about 2.8 km long with moderate surf. The surroundings are almost free of building, with fields and greenhouses behind the shore. The naturist stretch lies in front of the Almanat naturist campsite, a FEN-recommended resort open all year, which is why nude bathers dominate this part in every season. The campsite runs a beach bar where nudity is accepted, popular with campers and day visitors. The beach is also known as a meeting place for gay men. There is no lifeguard or shower on FEN's data sheet.
Getting there
Head for Almayate, between Torre del Mar and Málaga, and follow the roads towards the coast and the Almanat campsite; there is parking near the beach. Campsite guests have direct access to the sand. Getting onto the beach is level, but the dark sand and gravel are soft, so wheelchair use is difficult.
