About Playa la Vega
Vega, also called l'Arena de Vega, is a 1.4 km beach of fine golden sand near the hamlets of La Vega and Berbes, east of Ribadesella in Asturias. Cliffs and dunes back the beach, a stream runs out across the sand, and the whole setting is protected as a natural monument. It faces open sea, so waves are often strong and the wind can be stiff, conditions that draw surfers. Nude bathing is common, especially in the western part of the beach; Spain's national tourism portal describes the beach as nudist, and the Asturian naturist association ANAPA recommends it. In summer there are lifeguards, showers and toilets, and there is a campsite nearby.
Getting there
Leave the N-632 (or the A-8) at the village of Barredo and follow the turn signposted to La Vega. The road ends near the beach, with parking close to the sand. The walk from the car to the beach is short and easy; head west along the sand for the nude area.
