About Playa La Llana
La Llana is the long, wild beach on the seaward side of the Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar regional park in Murcia, a strip of dunes between the Mediterranean and the salt pans at the northern tip of the Mar Menor. The sand runs for about 3 km, golden and fairly narrow, backed by protected dunes with wooden walkways and with the salt pans, flamingos and old windmills inland. The surf is usually moderate. For decades this was one of the best-known traditional nudist beaches in the Murcia region, and naturists favoured the stretches furthest from the car parks. That changed in 2017, when the town council passed a beach ordinance that declares no naturist beach in the municipality and prohibits full nudity, and the Spanish Naturist Federation now urges members not to visit. There are lifeguards in season but no showers, and few services beyond the car parks.
Getting there
La Llana is reached by the park access road from San Pedro del Pinatar towards the salt pans, with parking areas behind the dunes; boardwalks cross the protected dunes to the sand. The walk from the car parks is short but the boardwalks and soft sand are hard going for wheelchairs. Buses run to San Pedro del Pinatar and Lo Pagán, a few kilometres away.

Legal context
San Pedro del Pinatar's beach use ordinance, approved on 20 June 2017 and published in the Murcia regional gazette (BORM) that month, states in article 10 that no naturist beach is declared in the municipality and prohibits full nudity; fines of up to 750 euros have been reported. Spain's Ombudsman (Defensor del Pueblo) recommended removing the blanket ban and cataloguing traditional nudist beaches with naturist groups, but the council rejected the recommendation. No court ruling annulling the ban was found as of 2026, so nude bathing here risks a fine.
Naturism at Playa La Llana sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
