About Playa del Rinconín
El Rinconín (also called El Cervigón) is a small urban cove at the eastern end of Gijón's seafront, beyond the main San Lorenzo beach where the promenade ends. It is about 250 metres long and narrow, with dark sand, pebbles and rock, and usually calm water. It is lifeguarded and has showers, and it is busy in summer. Turismo Asturias notes that it is the only beach in Gijón where dogs are allowed all year round, which shapes much of its use. The Spanish Naturist Federation lists El Rinconín as a beach of nudist tradition, and one regional guide tags it as used by nudists, but other directories describe it as an ordinary city beach. If you go to bathe nude, expect to be in a minority among clothed bathers and dog walkers; the rocks at the eastern edge are the most discreet part. Note: the Spanish Naturist Federation is the only source we found that reports nude bathing here, and other guides do not mention it. Nude use may be occasional or limited to the quieter end, so expect most visitors to be clothed and check on arrival.
Getting there
El Rinconín is at the east end of Gijón's seafront, beyond San Lorenzo beach, so most visitors simply walk there along the promenade from the city centre. It is an urban beach within the city, with services close by.

Legal context
Public nudity is not an offence in Spain, and the Spanish Naturist Federation (FEN) lists El Rinconín as a beach of nudist tradition. There is no municipal naturist designation; Gijón designates it as its year-round dog beach (2026).
Naturism at Playa del Rinconín sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
Full country law: Spain public nudity guide.
Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
