About Playa de Viñó
Viñó is a small sandy beach on the Costa da Vela in Cangas (Cangas do Morrazo, Pontevedra), near Punta de Couso at the mouth of the Ría de Vigo, in a protected natural setting just east of the famous nudist beach of Barra. It is roughly 300 m long and faces the Cíes Islands. Viñó has long been associated with nude bathing, but a 2024 press report described growing friction as more clothed bathers, pushed out of busier beaches, began setting up there; some nude visitors said they felt watched and urged clothed visitors to go elsewhere. One beach directory, by contrast, lists it as not nudist. In practice it is a mixed beach where nudity is common, and nearby Barra, listed by the Spanish Naturist Federation, is the more reliable choice for a nude day.
Getting there
Viñó lies off the road from Cangas towards Cabo Home and Donón, near the turn-offs for Nerga and Barra. Parking is roadside or in small informal areas, followed by a short walk down to the sand. Barra can be reached from the same area; there are no facilities on Viñó itself.
What visitors say
Reports describe Viñó as a quiet, scenic beach where most people bathe nude, though clothed visitors have become more common in recent summers and the mix has caused some friction. Visitors who want a fully nude atmosphere tend to head to neighbouring Barra.

Legal context
Public nudity is not an offence under Spanish national law. Viñó has a tradition of nude bathing but no official status, and a 2024 report described tension between nude and clothed bathers; no ban is known (2026).
Naturism at Playa de Viñó sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
