About Playa de Veneguera

Veneguera is a remote beach at the mouth of the Barranco de Veneguera on Gran Canaria's south-west coast, in Mogán. It is one of the few beaches on this stretch with no development at all: the ravine behind it is a protected natural area. The beach is about 370 metres long, made of rounded boulders and gravel with some sand, and the bay is usually calm. The Spanish Naturist Federation lists it as a beach of nudist tradition, and directories describe it as a nudist beach. Its remoteness is the point: getting there takes effort, and outside summer weekends you may share it with only a few people, though campers sometimes gather at busy times. There are no facilities, no shade and no lifeguard, so you need to bring everything, including plenty of water.

Getting there

From Mogán, a turning off the GC-200 leads down the Veneguera ravine; the last 3 km or so is a dirt track with deep ruts and loose stones that is not suitable for every car and can become impassable after rain. There is unguarded parking for fewer than 50 cars at the end. Without a car it is a long walk of up to about 10 km on the track from the bus stop (line 38); in summer that is very hot. Not wheelchair accessible.

What visitors say

Visitors describe Veneguera as wild and beautiful, worth the effort mainly for the sense of isolation. The access track is the most discussed topic: many warn that low cars can be damaged and advise checking conditions after rain. Others recommend going at low tide for more space, and avoiding summer weekends when campers arrive.

Legal context

Naturism at Playa de Veneguera sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
