About Playa de Ugan
Ugán is a small, remote beach on the west coast of Pájara in Fuerteventura, facing the open Atlantic. FEN describes it as isolated, about 300 m long, made up of boulders, gravel and dark sand, with strong surf, wind and few visitors. There are no lifeguards, showers or other facilities. The setting is a rugged volcanic shore with good sunset views, and its isolation is what attracts the occasional nude sunbather. The west coast surf here is dangerous for swimming on most days.
Getting there
We found no reliable published directions. The beach lies on the remote west coast of Pájara, away from paved roads, so check a map or satellite view before setting out and expect rough tracks and a walk over rocky ground. There is no public transport, no shade and no services, so bring everything you need.
Legal context
Spain has no national law against public nudity. Ugán is listed by FEN as a nudist-tradition beach; there is no local signage or ban (checked 2026).
Naturism at Playa de Ugan sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
