About Playa De Triana
Playa Triana is a pebble beach on the south-west coast of Gran Canaria, just east of Arguineguín, within the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. It runs for about 500 m below a low cliff alongside the old GC-500 coast road, which now carries little traffic, so the beach is quiet. The shore is made of large smooth pebbles, with a strip of dark volcanic sand exposed at low tide and smooth rock outcrops to sit on; small caves among the rocks in the middle of the beach are a favourite spot. The water is usually calm. Local guides describe Triana as popular with nude bathers and with local campervan owners, and it is known for its sunsets. There is no lifeguard and no toilet, only bins by the road.
Getting there
Triana lies directly beside the GC-500 just east of Arguineguín, with several small, unguarded car parks right by the beach. Global bus line 1 stops next to it (ask the driver in advance). Although the road is close, the big pebbles make reaching the water awkward and the beach is not suitable for wheelchairs.
What visitors say
Visitors describe a quiet, low-key pebble beach used by nude bathers and campervan owners, with calm water and good sunsets. The pebbles are the main complaint: they are uncomfortable to lie on and hard to walk over, so mats and water shoes are recommended. There are no facilities, but parking right by the beach makes it easy to bring supplies.
