About Playa de Ses Canyes (Formentera)

Ses Canyes is a small sandy beach on the north coast of Formentera, a short walk from the resort of Es Pujols, between Cala en Baster and the Tramuntana shore. The official Balearic tourism site describes it as a pretty, unspoiled nudist beach, and notes that, as on most of Formentera's beaches, visitors can bathe nude. It is roughly 200 to 300 m long and narrow, with fine white sand in the middle and rocks and gravel at either end, and no vegetation behind. The water is clear and usually calm. There is no lifeguard, bar, toilet or shower on the beach itself, though bars and restaurants are close by in Es Pujols, and sunbed and parasol rental is sometimes available. It is quieter than Es Pujols but can still get busy in July and August.

Getting there

From Es Pujols, walk about 15 minutes north along wooden walkways, or drive the dirt track beside the Sa Pedrera hotel to small unpaved parking areas a few minutes from the sand; the last stretch is a wooden walkway under 100 m long. The island's L1 bus stops 5 to 15 minutes' walk away. It is about 2 km from Sant Ferran by bike or on foot. There is no adapted access.
