About Playa de Rompeculos

Rompeculos is a stretch of the long Atlantic beach between Mazagón and Matalascañas in Moguer (Huelva), on the edge of the Doñana area. FEN gives it as about 3 km long and 100 m deep, with golden sand, moderate surf and very few people. It sits under the sandstone cliffs of the Asperillo, with pine-covered dunes behind and no buildings in sight, which is why it is popular with naturists. Nude and clothed bathers share it, and the further you walk from the access point, the more nude bathers you tend to see. There is no lifeguard or shower on FEN's data sheet, and no beach bar.

Getting there

Turn off the A-494 Mazagón–Matalascañas road at about km 32.6, where a gated access leads to a car park on the clifftop managed by the regional government; a small daily fee has been charged in summer. From there a boardwalk of about 650 m runs down through the dunes to the sand. It is a long walk on soft sand to the quieter parts. There is no public transport to the beach entrance.

Legal context

Spain has no national law against public nudity. Rompeculos is a FEN nudist-tradition beach; tourism listings disagree on whether it is 'nudist', but nude use is customary and we found no local ban (checked 2026).

Naturism at Playa de Rompeculos sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
